This 1955 Austin-Healey 100 BN1 roadster project is said to have been purchased new in California by the father of the previous owner, and it was acquired by the seller’s father in late 2023. Finished in white over black upholstery, the car comes with a disassembled 2.7-liter inline-four as well as a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive, wire wheels, a banjo-style steering wheel, and side curtains. This Healey 100 project car is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the owner with copies of previous California titles, removed and unused parts, and a clean California title.
The car is finished in white and features a driver-side mirror and chrome bumpers. The paint and body are damaged and the seller notes rust in the rocker panels and at the left side of the trunk compartment.
Wire-spoke 15″ knock-off wheels exhibit wear and are mounted with aged tires. A spare is located in the trunk.
The seats are upholstered in black, and the cabin also has black door panels with red inner portions. The finish on the dashboard is missing in places and the carpeting is worn.
The banjo-style steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The engine reportedly had overheating issues prior to being removed, and the seller states that subsequent work has involved boring the cylinders .060″ over, machining the crankshaft .010″ under, decking the cylinder head, replacing valvetrain parts, and sourcing replacement pistons.
The car is equipped with a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Corrosion is noted on underbody components.
The car is registered as Planned Non-Operation in the state of California.
