This 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 Roadster is a non-running project that was acquired by the seller’s late father in 1979 and has been stored since 2004. The car has been registered in California, Nevada, Virginia, Florida, and New York in addition to spending time in England and Turkey. It has been repainted in dark blue and silver over white leather upholstery, and equipment includes a 2,660ci inline-four, a four-speed manual transmission, aftermarket 15″ wheels, a black soft top, a 100M-style louvered hood with a leather tie-down strap, and an adjustable-rake windshield. This BN2 is now offered by the seller on behalf of their father’s estate with side curtains, a tonneau cover, a service manual, historical documents, spare and removed parts, and New York registration.

The car was previously finished in British Racing Green and was repainted its current shade of dark blue and silver in 1984. Features include a black soft top, a 100M-style louvered hood with a leather tie-down strap, front driving lamps, bright bumpers and trim, mesh headlight covers, and an adjustable-rake windshield. A pair of side curtains and a tonneau cover are included in the sale.

Aftermarket 15″ wheels wear knock-off spinners and are mounted with Assurety Superguard HR tires. Braking is through drums at all four corners, and the car features an independent front suspension. The removed chrome wire wheels show corrosion and are included in the sale.

The cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in white leather with black piping, along with black carpets and door panels. Amenities include a padded center armrest, a dash-mounted rear-view mirror, and lap belts for both occupants.

The three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of a body-color dashboard housing Smiths instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 18k miles, approximately 15k of which were added under current ownership. A prior Virginia title lists a Not Actual Mileage brand, and thus total mileage is unknown.

The 2,660cc inline-four features twin SU carburetors and is linked with a four-speed manual transmission. The seller states that the car has not been driven or started since 2004.

Corrosion is visible on underside components.

The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its New York registration, which expired in 2006.

Private Party or Dealer: Private Party

Lot #137891

This 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 Roadster was acquired by the seller as a non-running project on BaT in July 2023, and subsequent service has included servicing the replacement 2,661ci inline-four, adjusting the twin SU carburetors, rebuilding the four-speed manual transmission and the overdrive unit, and servicing the braking system. The car has been repainted in dark blue and silver over light gray leather upholstery, and equipment includes Dunlop 15″ wire-spoke wheels, a black soft top, a 100M-style louvered hood with a leather tie-down strap, and an adjustable-rake windshield. This BN2 is now offered with a BMIHT certificate, side curtains, a tonneau cover, a service manual, and a California title.

The replacement 2,660cc inline-four was installed under prior ownership, and the seller states that .040″ oversized pistons were utilized. Work performed following the seller’s acquisition is said to include rebuilding and adjusting the twin SU carburetors in addition to replacing the 12-volt battery.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission equipped with a Laycock de Normanville overdrive unit. The seller notes that both the transmission and overdrive unit were rebuilt under current ownership and that the clutch, pressure plate, release bearing, and overdrive solenoid were replaced. Corrosion is visible on underside components.

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists a build date of August 22, 1955, an initial dealer destination of Okinawa, Japan, and factory specifications.

The California title carries a “Title Only” notation, and the seller reports that the car is currently registered as Planned Non-Operational.

Otherwise same as above.
