This 1956 Austin-Healey BN2 Roadster is one of just 640 factory-built 100M examples produced over a 10-month span and was completed on October 13, 1955. The car was sold new in the US and reportedly remained with the same owner for 39 years after being purchased from B.C. Importers of Miami, Florida in October 1959. It was acquired by the current owner in 2016, and the 2,660cc inline-four was rebuilt in 2019 with an aluminum cylinder head from Denis Welch, forged 8.5:1-compression Arias pistons, a ground and re-hardened camshaft from Elgin, a high-volume oil pump, and more. Shifting remains through a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive, and additional work in the last two years has included overhauling the brake and suspension systems. Finished in Old English White and red over a black and red interior, this 100M is now offered on consignment with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, a 100M Registry Certificate of Membership, a 1959 sales invoice, and a clean Oregon title.
The exterior was repainted during previous ownership in Old English White with red lower panels. The louvred bonnet is secured by a leather strap and is noted on the BMIHT Certificate as factory equipment, distinguishing the car as a factory-built 100M. Body number 10819 is shown stamped on the hood and various trim pieces. A semi-circular crack is visible on the rear shroud behind the cockpit.
Painted 15” wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and wear Dunlop SP 4N tires, as does the matching spare. The front and rear bumpers, overriders, and bumper mounts were removed under previous ownership and are not included in the sale.
The interior features black leather with red piping over the seats and driveshaft tunnel, along with red carpeting, door panels, and trunk lining. Additional details include a factory banjo-spoked steering wheel, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and a 100M Registry badge affixed to the body-colored dash. A black soft top is stowed behind the seats.
Smiths instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows 62,500 miles, around 500 of which have been added by the current owner.
The 2,660cc inline-four utilizes a replacement block which was hot-tanked, re-sleeved, and line-bored during a 2019 rebuild. An aluminum cylinder head with uprated bolts from Denis Welch was also added at that time, along with forged Arias pistons with an 8.5:1 compression ratio and a camshaft that was ground and re-hardened by Elgin to their number 6707 M specifications. Markings on the twin SU carburetors and the distributor are shown in the gallery below. Date codes for various components are listed in a document in the gallery, and another document outlines additional work done during the engine rebuild, including:
Installing a replacement crankshaft
Balancing the connecting rods and adding aircraft-specification wrist pin bolts
Installing new valves, guides, springs, and a new head gasket from Denis Welch
Installing a high-volume oil pump from Denis Welch
Rebushing the rockers and chrome-plating and grinding the rocker shafts
Lightening the flywheel and balancing it with the crankshaft
Rebuilding the water pump with a modern seal and sealed bearings
Fitting an aftermarket rear main seal and modern crankshaft pulley seal
Rebuilding the Lucas distributor
Re-lining the clutch with new friction material for wet or dry usage
Balancing and blue-printing the engine
The suspension and brake systems were overhauled two years ago. Various dents are noted along the frame rails, and the floorboards are said to have been replaced.
The BMIHT Certificate lists the original colors and equipment. A 100M Registry membership certificate are provided along with 1959 invoices and a copy of a 1959 Florida title.

This 1956 Austin-Healey BN2 Roadster is one of just 640 factory-built 100M-specification cars produced between 1955 and 1956, and it is finished in Old English White and red with a black soft top over black leather. It was completed on October 13, 1955 as a North American-market example, and it was sold by B.C. Importers of Miami, Florida in October 1959 to a long-term owner of 39 years. The current owner acquired the car in 2016 and commissioned a rebuild of the 2,660cc inline-four with an aluminum cylinder head from Denis Welch, forged 8.5:1-compression Arias pistons, a ground and re-hardened camshaft from Elgin, and a high-volume oil pump. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and during current ownership the brake and suspension systems were also overhauled. This 100M was previously listed on BaT in 2020 and is now offered again on dealer consignment with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, a 100M Registry Certificate of Membership, a 1959 sales invoice, and a clean Oregon title.
The car was refinished in Old English White with contrasting red lower bodywork during previous ownership, and the selling dealer replaced the bumpers in preparation for sale. The leather bonnet strap securing the louvered hood is noted on the BMIHT certificate as factory equipment and distinguishes the car as a factory-built 100M. Close-up photos of the trim and finish are provided in the gallery, which show a semi-circular crack on the shroud aft of the cockpit as well as body number 10819 stamped on the louvered hood and assorted trim pieces.
Silver-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knockoffs and wear Dunlop SP 4N tires, including the matching spare. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums, and the suspension and brakes were overhauled in 2018 per an included invoice.
The two-place cockpit features black leather upholstery with red piping over the seats and driveline tunnel that is complemented by red carpeting, door panels, and trunk lining. Additional features include a banjo-spoke steering wheel, a dashboard-mounted rear-view mirror, and a 100M registry placard affixed to the body-color dashboard. The black convertible top is shown stowed behind the seats in the gallery.
Smiths instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, a fuel gauge, and a combination oil pressure and water-temperature gauge. Just over 62,500 miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, approximately 500 of which were added by the current owner.
The 2,660cc inline-four features a replacement block that was re-sleeved, line-bored, and hot-tanked during the 2019 rebuild. An aluminum cylinder head and uprated bolts from Denis Welch are fitted, and the factory pistons were replaced with forged alloy items from Arias with an 8.5:1 compression ratio. The camshaft is a reground and re-hardened Elgin component made to 6707 M specifications. Markings on the twin SU carburetors and distributor are pictured in the gallery, and a summary document outlines additional work undertaken during the engine rebuild, including the following:
Installation of a replacement crankshaft
Balancing and rebuilding the connecting rods with aircraft-specification wrist pin bolts
Installation of new valves, guides, and springs
Re-bushing the rocker arms and chrome-plating and grinding the rocker shafts

It was completed on October 13, 1955, as a North American-market example, and it was sold by B.C. Importers of Miami, Florida in October 1959 to a long-term owner of 39 years. The 2,660cc inline-four features a replacement block that was sleeved, line-bored, and hot-tanked during the 2019 rebuild. An aluminum cylinder head and uprated bolts from Denis Welch were fitted, and the factory pistons were replaced with forged alloy versions from Arias with an 8.5:1 compression ratio. The camshaft is a reground and re-hardened Elgin component made to 6707 M specifications, and the rotating assembly is said to have been balanced during the build.
