This 1955 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 Roadster was reportedly stored for nearly four decades before it was acquired by the current owner in 2010 and subsequently underwent a body-off refurbishment by British Auto Specialists of Calgary, Alberta. It is finished in red and black over black upholstery and powered by a 2,660cc inline-four mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes 15″ wire wheels, a removable soft top, a tilting windscreen, a split tonneau cover, and dual carburetors. Work during the refurbishment included repainting the body, replacing the soft top, installing a high-torque starter, and re-chroming the bumpers and grille. This Austin-Healey is now offered in Canada with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, build records and photographs, manufacturer’s literature, and Alberta registration.
Originally delivered in Carmine Red, the car was disassembled, stripped, and refinished in Carmine Red and black during the refurbishment. Additional work included repairing rust, re-chroming the grille and bumpers, and replacing the rocker panels, B-pillars, soft top, and tonneau cover. Equipment includes bright trim, a tilting Triplex windshield, and removable side curtains. The rear reflectors have been removed, and the seller notes scratches and pits on the windshield.
Painted 15″ knock-off wire wheels wear Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were mounted in April 2015.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black with red piping. The black carpets were replaced and are protected by Austin Healey-branded floor mats. Equipment includes a heater, a passenger grab handle, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror.
The banjo-style steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The tachometer and speedometer were rebuilt by Nisonger Instruments, and the five-digit odometer was reset during the refurbishment and now shows 1,300 miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2,660cc inline-four is equipped with dual carburetors, a high-torque starter, a block heater, a 12-volt battery, and a chrome engine dress-up kit. The removed starter is included in the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with an electronic overdrive unit. Additional photos of the underside are provided in the gallery below.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists the original colors and equipment.
A photo album showing the build in progress is included in the sale, along with manufacturer’s literature, build records, a show board, tools, additional literature, and accessories.
The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a province that does not issue titles for vehicles. It is being sold on its registration and a bill of sale.
