This Austin Healey 100/4 BN2 came out of the factory and shipped to the dealer in California as a BN2L in 1955.
As soon as the Austin Healey arrived at the dealership, the "Le Mans" engine kit has been ordered (part number P.280) and fitted in this car and sold and registered as is.
The "Le Mans" kit consisted of the following parts:
A pair of 1 3/4in carburetors.
Special manifolds and four-stud fixing, a joint carburetor cold air box, on which was sometimes fitted a small plate proclaiming that "This car has been fitted with a Le Mans modification kit".
Stronger valve springs.
High-lift camshaft.
Steel face cylinder Head gasket
