This 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 roadster was modified in Belmont, California, circa 1961 with Ferrari-inspired front bodywork, after which the car was reportedly displayed at a series of San Francisco-area exhibitions. Starting in 1968, the car is said to have spent more than 50 years with one owner, who commissioned a refurbishment in 2018 that included a repaint in metallic blue. Powered by a 2,660cc inline-four linked with a four-speed manual transmission, the car features a black soft top, bumperettes, and fender vents as well as 15″ Minilite-style wheels, a side-exit exhaust system, low-back seats with lap belts, and an aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel. This BN2 roadster is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with historical photographs, a set of side curtains, and a Washington title in the owner’s name.
The body is finished in metallic blue, and the nose was modified by Arnold Zucchi circa 1961 with features intended to resemble Ferrari cars of that era. Black-finished vents have been added behind the front wheel arches, and the car has black-painted bumperettes at both ends. Other details include a single side-exit exhaust outlet and a black convertible soft top.
The 15″ Minilite-style wheels are mounted with Mastercraft tires, and braking is handled by drums at each corner.
The bucket seats are equipped with lap belts and trimmed in black vinyl with white piping. A wolf-themed floor mat has been added in the right footwell.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 73k miles.
The 2,660cc inline-four breathes through dual SU carburetors with individual air cleaners.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
The sale includes historical photographs and a set of side curtains.
The Washington title carries an Antique brand.
