Completed on April 10, 1956, this left-hand- drive Austin-Healey 100/4 was constructed for export to the US. Noted Austin-Healey historian Roger Moment suggested to the current owner that - with its unusual combination of amber marker lights and mph speedometer - it was likely ordered by a US serviceman stationed in England. By 1973, the Austin-Healey was in the possession of David White of Alameda, California.

In 1991, this lovely 100/4 was acquired by its current owner in Northern California, where it was found in good driving condition. The Le Mans louvered bonnet - an original, factory- numbered unit - was fitted to the car at the time of acquisition. The current owner eventually took the car to Absolutely British in Santa Maria, California, where Jay Niederist oversaw the restoration and its conversion to Le Mans specifications.

Heritage Upholstery of Vancouver, British Columbia, reupholstered the interior, bringing the red leather cabin back to show-quality condition. Preserving Austin-Healey's vision for this stunning 100/4, it was repainted in its original red-over-black color scheme.

After the restoration was complete, this Austin-Healey 100/4 Le Mans was shown publicly only three times. It won Best of Show at the 2004 California Healey Week, First Place 100 Class at the 2007 California Healey Week and First in Class Austin-Healeys at the 17th Annual British Car Show in 2007. This car is still thought- fully looked after and run twice a month.

Accompanying the sale of this car are BMI Heritage Trust and 100 M Le Mans Registry Cer- tificates, an original tool kit, jack and books, including the service manual. Also included in the sale are an extra set of carburetors; the original iron head; two tonneau covers, one for show and one for driving; and two sets of side curtains.

The Austin-Healey 100/4 Le Mans is an icon of British motoring; and the collector searching for a complete, event-eligible sports car need look no further than this fine example.
