This 1957 Austin-Healey 100-6 BN4 roadster was built in November 1957 and shipped to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The seller purchased the car in 1989 and had it refurbished around 2010. The 2.6-liter inline-six is paired with a Toyota five-speed manual transmission, and the car has been repainted in metallic beige over tan leather upholstery with white piping. Equipment includes a beige soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, a front anti-roll bar, disc brakes, dual SU carburetors, a high-torque starter, a Texas Kooler fan, a replacement wiring harness, front seatbelts, a digital radio, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. This 100-6 is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, a tonneau cover, a car cover, and transferable New York registration in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Ivory White, the car was repainted in metallic beige during the aforementioned refurbishment, the seller tells us. Features include a replacement beige soft top, a tonneau cover, a hood scoop, fender-mounted dual side mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The convertible-top frame has been powdercoated.
Silver-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 165R15 BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial whitewall tires. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums, and an anti-roll bar is connected to the front suspension. The brakes, wheels, tires, springs, and shocks were replaced during the refurbishment, according to the seller.
The front and rear bucket seats are trimmed in tan leather with white piping, which is complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, side trim, and carpeting that also were redone during the refurbishment. Interior appointments include a retro-style digital radio, aftermarket speakers, a passenger grab handle, a wooden shift knob, front lap belts, door-panel storage pockets, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 24k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.6-liter inline-six was equipped from the factory with dual SU carburetors. The wiring harness was replaced during the refurbishment, and a high-torque starter and a Texas Kooler fan have been installed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Toyota-sourced five-speed manual transmission.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors, options, and serial numbers along with delivery to Philadelphia.
The replacement identification tag shown above adds an extra zero in the middle of its sequence: BN4L-0-53327. The BMIHT certificate lists the number BN4L53327, which is also cited on the seller’s registration document.
The vehicle is being sold on its New York registration, which serves as the ownership document in New York.
