From the original austinhealey.com web site:

My car was found near Mechanisville, Virginia, She had been sitting for 25years in a yard with right front-end damage. I was buying this Healey and a Morgan Super Sport in the American car yard. It turns out the car had a km/hr speedo, and was a strange combination of no overdrive, and disc wheels. I sent for the BMIHT certificate and received a separate note and copy of her warranty from Anders Clausager, stating that the car was prepared and shown at the 1957 Paris Motor Show. I was able to trace her history to Tyrone, PA, but no further, in 1959, and the title indicated it was brought from another state. I also have an F. Woll, who the car was warranted as first owner, of the American Base at Verdun, so his implies a soldier may have brought her back over. I am looking for more information on her, I have no pictures of the car from the show, nor have I the final bit on owner. The concept here for this car was a basic no option car, selling cheaply to help boost sales of the 100-6. Any further information or suggestions appreciated.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
