This 1959 Austin-Healey 100-6 is a BN4 four-seat roadster that is finished in white over red leather upholstery. Power is provided by a 2.6-liter inline-six that is backed by a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes a tonneau cover, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, dual SU carburetors, and 15″ knock-off wire wheels. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2011 and was subsequently refinished. Service since 2021 has involved replacing the battery, valve cover gasket, and ignition components. This 100-6 BN4 is now offered by the seller on the owner’s behalf with partial service records, the owner’s handbook, and a clean Virginia title.
The car was repainted in white under current ownership and has chrome bumpers with overriders as well as a hood scoop, polished fuel filler cap, twin side mirrors, and twin exhaust outlets. The windshield wipers were repaired in 2023. A red tonneau cover, detachable side windows, and a black soft top that is missing the frame will accompany the car.
Silver-painted 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with 165/HR15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were installed in 2017. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums. The rear wheel seals, O-rings, and gaskets were replaced along with the steering box seal in 2017.
The 2+2 cabin features low-back bucket seats that are trimmed in worn red leather and complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include a Smiths heater, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a wood shift knob, a passenger-side grab handle, and polished trim on the dashboard and doors. The seatbelts were replaced in 2018.
The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 77k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.6-liter inline-six was equipped from the factory with dual SU carburetors, and an Austin-branded valve cover assembly is fitted. Service in 2013 involved replacing gaskets for the intake manifold and valve cover, and the carburetors were adjusted at that time. The battery was replaced in April 2021, and the points, ignition wires, and valve cover gasket were replaced in December 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with an overdrive that operates in third and fourth gears. The overdrive unit, clutch, and pilot bearing were replaced and the transmission was rebuilt in 2018. Corrosion on underside components is visible.
