Car to be at auction 2/11
www.artcurial.com/en/asp/fullCatalogue.asp

Auction description:
Lot 250
1959 AUSTIN-HEALEY 100-SIX JAMAICAN Châssis n° BN4 LS77603
At the end of the 1960s, the style of the Austin-Healeys as created in 1950 started to age. A Californian crafts company, specialising in fibreglass work, Fiberfab, had been founded by Warren "Bud" Goodwind in 1964; this company offered body kits in resin and fibreglass which allowed the classic English roadsters constructed on a separate chassis to be rejuvenated (Austin-Healey, Triumph TR, MGA and even VW).

The car presented here is an Austin-Healey 100-Six from 1959. In 1968, it was fitted with an elegant and unusual fibreglass body in a concentrated style and highly profiled, inspired by the large Italian GTs of the time. It is claimed that Fiberfab only produced five Healey Jamaicans in total. This one has been completely restored starting from the bare chassis, stripped and subjected to anti-corrosion treatment prior to re-assembly of the engine and transmission (four gears plus overdrive). The running gears, brakes (with disks at the front), the wire wheels (Borrani with central locking) are new. With the pleasant sounds it makes, the two-line exhaust system reinforces the sporting character created by the wire wheels. Metallic aubergine in colour with a black interior with red edging which is almost new (bucket seats), this beautiful and extremely rare Austin-Healey Jamaican works well and has a tried-and-tested mechanical system. It is reliable and easy to maintain, and offers an exceptional opportunity for "driving with a difference". It comes with its French vehicle registration document.

Estimation 25 000 - 45 000 €

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
