This 1958 Austin-Healey 100-6 is a two-seat roadster that was acquired by a friend of the seller in 1994 and subsequently refurbished in yellow over black. Power is from a 2,639cc inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and Laycock overdrive unit, and additional equipment includes a soft top and side curtains as well as wire wheels and driving lights. The hydraulic systems have reportedly been serviced and the carburetors rebuilt since the seller’s purchase in 2014, while an oil change was last performed in March 2020. This BN6 is offered with a tonneau cover, uninstalled bumpers, a spare wheel, and a clean Utah title in the seller’s name.
The body wears a repaint in yellow, and both bumpers have been removed but are said to be included in the sale. Driving lamps are affixed below the grille. The car was displayed at an ISCA AutoRama event.
Painted knock-off wire wheels are affixed with two-eared spinners, and a spare is housed in the trunk. The black soft top and side curtains are shown both installed and removed, and the car also comes with a black tonneau cover.
The two-seat cockpit is trimmed in black with yellow piping, and several pieces of brightwork have been painted black. The banjo-spoke steering wheel features a hub-mounted trafficator switch and frames Smiths gauges including a five-digit odometer said to show 9k miles. Actual mileage is unknown. The seller notes that the fuel gauge is out for refurbishment and will be included in the sale.
The 2,639cc C-series inline-six was rated at 117 horsepower and 149 lb-ft of torque when new, and features dual SU carburetors that the seller states were rebuilt in 2018. The brake and clutch hydraulic systems are also said to have been refurbished.
A four-speed manual transmission pairs with an electrically-actuated Laycock de Normanville overdrive unit, and power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a solid rear axle located with leaf springs. The independent front suspension consists of control arms, coil springs, and conventional dampers. Unassisted drum brakes are equipped at all four wheels.
