1959 Austin Healey 100-6, rare BN6 roadster. Non-overdrive model. Under 30,000 miles on the chassis. New top, newer tonneau cover, no side curtains. 48-spoke chrome wire wheels. Engine was rebuilt in 2010. Recently rebuilt trafficator turn signal & new leather steering wheel. Absolutely rust-free. Runs beautifully. The cosmetic restoration was completed by the previous owner in 2005. Paint is beautiful... a few very minor flaws, but I'd call it a "5-footer." A few pieces of the brightwork are starting to show some signs of age, (minor pitting on the boot hinges).
The NADA Classic Car guidelines place the "Average Retail" for this model at $35,000, and the "High Retail" at $70,000. Hagerty ranges from $35,700 for a 'Condition 3' car, to $52,000 for a 'Condition 2.' I would rate this Healey as a solid #2. Not a concours winner, but extremely nice. British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate is included.
Like most British cars from the era, it will drip a little oil. Also, some of the gauges are (in true Smiths fashion) a bit... squirrelly. The fuel gauge isn't very accurate; the speedometer needle bounces, and reads about 6-8 mph faster than actual speed; the water temperature portion of the dual gauge doesn't register, but the oil pressure reads fine; The tachometer works well.
The only issue that may need some attention is the right-rear wheel hub. It's starting to weep a small amount of oil, so it may need a new seal.
