This 1959 Austin-Healey 100-6 is a two-seat BN6 roadster that is finished in red over a black interior and is powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission. The car is said to have been refurbished in 2017 with work including repainting the body, reupholstering the interior, and installing the replacement engine and transmission. Equipment includes a roll bar, driving lights, hood pins, headlamp protectors, 15″ wheels, an Alpine CD stereo, and a fire extinguisher. The car was acquired by the owner in August 2021. This BN6 is offered in California by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean Nevada title.

The body was reportedly refinished in red during the refurbishment. Features include a padded roll bar, fender vents, driving lights, hood pins, a hood scoop, headlamp protectors, side exhaust outlets, and a mesh grille.

Gray five-spoke 15″ wheels have polished lips and are wrapped in 195/60 Falken Ziex tires. The car is equipped with air suspension at each corner, and disc brakes up front.

The seats are said to have been reupholstered in black vinyl with red piping and are joined by matching door panels. The turned-metal dashboard houses switchgear, an Alpine CD stereo, a passenger grab handle, and an Air Lift suspension remote. A fire extinguisher is housed behind the passenger seat.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 240-km/h speedometer, and gauges for fuel level, water temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The digital odometer shows just under 3,500 miles, approximately 100 of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 350ci V8 features a FiTech fuel injection system, polished valve covers, and flame graphics on the air filter cover.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
