Additional description from above auction:
Lot Number: 55
As one would imagine, this is no ordinary 'Big' Healey, but a very special works rally evocation that has been restored and uprated to a high standard by marque specialist John Chatham. Registered in Devon on 1st February 1963, this right-hand drive BJ7 is understood to have received its transformation in the mid 90's. It has been in the current ownership for 13 years and campaigned in classic rally events. The vendor informs us that to replicate a Healey to this standard with its refurbished and fully balanced engine to competition specification would cost circa £120,000 today. Features include; triple Weber carburettors, twin fuel pumps, 6 branch manifold, ported & polished head, roller rocker gear, steel rocker pedestals, competition valve springs, vernier camshaft sprocket, Supersprint cam, aluminium flywheel, oil cooler, baffled sump, straight cut tulip gears, competition overdrive, uprated clutch, LSD, upgraded shock absorbers, heavy duty anti-roll bar, rose jointed links, split braking system, twin servos, discs all round, Jaguar calipers, hydraulic handbrake, adjustable brake bias valve, aluminium wings, bonnet and boot by Rod Jolly, magnesium Minilite wheels, high ratio steering box, ducted radiator intake, 18 gallon foam filled alloy fuel tank, plumbed in fire extinguisher, roll over bar, stiffened chassis and competition seats and harnesses. Developing around 215bhp, this potent Healey is said to be in "very good" condition and ready for any classic rally event. Offered with assorted receipts, invoices and old MoT's, it is expected to possess a fresh MoT by the time of sale.
