A Heritage Certificate confirmed UK Home Market, RHD Austin Healey 3000 Mark II Convertible:
Chassis No: H-BJ7/22424 built 5-8 March 1963 and despatched on 13 March 1963 to Bradford where it was issued with the registration UKW 444, which remains on the car today.
Original factory specification:
Wire wheels: now 72-spoke and fitted with the expensive Michelin XAS 180/15 tyre (all in very good condition with plenty of tread remaining)
Overdrive, heater, brake servo, adjustable steering column
For the past 11 years, UKW 444 has been owned by a well-known AHC member who has put considerable investment into the improving the car such that it is now to a very highly specification.
Upgrades as follows:
Welch (DWR)fast road aluminium head S616 and honed block
DWR8 camshaft (fast road spec)
DWR gas-flowed inlet manifold
Cosworth forged pistons, balanced crank & con-rods (machined oil holes), lightened flywheel
DWR heavy duty clutch
Uprated rear shocks and uprated 8-leaf springs
Lumenition electronic ignition, comp ignition leads and NGK caps
Capesport Alternator conversion
Capesport stainless tubular exhaust manifold
Twin SU HD8 2-inch carbs and DWR ITG filter kit
Rack and pinion steering conversion
Rolling-road setup showing 165bhp (127 at the wheel) and 200lb ft torque!
A huge history file accompanies the car which shows earlier owners, tax discs, MoT certificates, invoices and photos of restoration.
This is an older restoration (by JME in 1985, photographic record), but for a fast-road Healey which has had a lot of expensive mechanical work done and is nicely set up, then this Healey 3000 merits serious consideration. Drive as-is or repaint for a top-class Big Healey.
Overall, a fast, well-handling 3000, with all the practicality of the Mark II. As Octane's cover feature says: "our favourite Brit sports car: back in fashion & as mighty as ever"!

Hi this used to be my fatgers car back in the 1960's not sure if he owned it from new. He used to hill climb with it and I was amazed to see it is still alive today! Where abouts are you based please as I would love to see it again?
