This 1963 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ7 Mk IIA is a non-running project that is said to have been off the road for approximately five decades. The car was last registered in Oklahoma in the 1970s and remained there until it was relocated to Tennessee in 2024 and subsequently acquired by the selling dealer. The car is finished in white and equipped with a 2.9-liter inline-six, a four-speed manual transmission, a soft top frame, 15” wire wheels, and dual SU carburetors. A dashboard, Smiths gauges, and partial seat frames remain in the cabin. This BJ7 project is now offered in Texas at no reserve with a clean Tennessee title.

The body wears white paint, and corrosion and rust holes are present around the car. The soft top, door handles, and portions of the exterior trim are missing. Dents and damage on the remaining brightwork.

Rust is visible on the 15” knock-off wire wheels, which are retained by two-eared spinners. Only one of the deteriorated Firestone tires holds air. A matching spare is stored in the trunk. Front disc brakes and rear drums were standard equipment.

Partial seat frames remain in the cabin, which is mostly devoid of upholstery. The transmission cover is missing.

Remnants of a banjo-style steering wheel sits ahead of a Smiths tachometer and auxiliary gauges. The speedometer is missing, and total mileage is unknown.

The 2.9-liter inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and does not run or turn over by hand.

The car is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission and a Laycock-de Normanville overdrive unit.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
