For sale on e-bay: hendrixwirewheel.com were added. Allen Hendrix also balanced the rear drums. The motor pulls nicely and the overdrive shifts when the switch is flipped. 1st is notchy so I always start out in 2nd gear which works since the big Healey has a lot of torque.
Body:
The car is a project and needs restored. I had an accident this Summer and damaged the front driver's side corner. The parts are available and the aluminum shroud can be hammered back into place or can be renewed from Moss Motors.
I did get under the car and sanded all of the old paint and surface rust and put on a rust-resistant paint that has helped preserve the car with my daily driving. I keep the shocks filled (but not overfilled) with Armstrong oil.
The top is a Stayfast top from Moss Motors and is in pretty good shape but needs to be cleaned. When replacing the top in 2005 I had the frame blasted and repainted in the proper Healey silver paint.
The motor is great and I had the original radiator re-cored and then put electric fans on the front to ensure the car wouldn't overheat on my commute. The motor is the least of my concerns for this car, the body needs more attention.
This is NOT a concourse car, but it is fun to drive and I've driven from Nashville to Louisville, to Birmingham, and Chattanooga multiple times without a problem.
