Car to return to auction 7/14
classiccars.brightwells.com/viewdetails.php
Auction description:
Lot number 73
Estimate £30,000 - £35,000
Description Austin-Healey 3000 MkIIa
Registration BOF 118A
Year 1963
Colour Yellow
Engine size 3,000 cc
Chassis No. HBJ7L20352
This 1963 LHD example has the standard occasional rear seats and was imported from the USA having received a nut-and-bolt restoration by its previous owner. The vendor describes the condition of the floor pans, inner wings and chassis as excellent and the yellow paintwork as superb following a bare metal respray which included removing the engine which has left the engine bay pristine.
The vendor informs us that the chrome is good and that a new set of chrome wire wheels have recently been fitted, the car driving beautifully with a strong, sweet sounding engine. This MkIIa comes with the wind-up windows and better hood arrangement too, a vast improvement over the earlier cars making it a much more civilised grand tourer. A beautiful machine all round, it is MOTd until November 2014.

Auction description:
Lot 132
Registration Date 1963
Make & Model Austin-Healey 3000 MkIIA
Colour Yellow/White
Registration Number PO 5074
Chassis No. HBJ7L20352
Engine size 2,912 cc
Engine No.
Documents V5C; due to have a fresh MOT
Estimate £30,000 - £35,000
This 1963 MkIIA has the standard occasional rear seats and was imported from the USA in 2013 having received a nut-and-bolt restoration by its previous owner. The vendor describes the condition of the floor pans, inner wings and chassis as excellent and the yellow and white paintwork as equally good following a bare metal respray which included removing the engine which has left the engine bay pristine.
The vendor informs us that the chrome is good and that a new set of chrome wire wheels and a new alternator have recently been fitted, the car reportedly driving beautifully with a strong, sweet sounding engine. This MkIIA comes with the wind-up windows and better hood arrangement too, a vast improvement over the earlier cars making it a much more civilised grand tourer.
A beautiful machine all round, it could easily be converted to RHD if desired and is due to have a new MOT in time for the sale. The icing on the cake is a nice transferable number that has been valued at £2,000.
