Car to be at auction 7/14
www.silverstoneauctions.com/1963-austin-healey-3000-mk-ii

Auction description:
Silverstone Classic Sale
1963 Austin Healey 3000 Mk II
Lot No.: TBA
Registration: TBA
Chassis Number: HBJ7L22598
Engine Number: 29F/RU/H3481
Number of cylinders: 6
CC: 3000cc
Year of Manufacture: 1963
Estimate (£): 55,000 - 65,000

This left-hand drive Austin Healey 3000 was sold new in the USA in 1963. The Illinois registration details in the history file would suggest the car remained there until it was purchased by a Doctor from Jersey in 1991. The car formed part of a large private collection and was then sold in 2000 to a local dentist having covered a mere 7,800 miles. Whilst in the possession of these two collectors the car was maintained regardless of cost by their full-time mechanics.

Over the last 14 years this Healey has covered a further 2,000 miles and is currently reading 9884 miles. With the absence of early mileage declarations in the history file it is impossible to state this mileage is warranted. However, the current vendor has had the car fully inspected by marque specialist Murray Scott-Nelson. They state the following:

"The car would appear to be very original and has not been the subject of a restoration. The hood is original, all the panels appear original and in my professional opinion it has never been welded nor does it require any. I have found no reason that would suggest the mileage isn't genuine. The paintwork on the car is original." They also mention that the wheels and tyres are non-original and minor paint repairs have been carried out to the front shroud.

Included in the sale is the original drivers handbook, Jersey registration and various paperwork. Buyers should note that UK taxes have been recently paid and a UK registration certificate is currently pending. Finished in the most appropriate colour combination of ice blue with blue trim, this car is a true testament to Healey 3000 originality. Very few cars survive in genuinely original order and this example must be seen to be believed. A full copy of the Murray Scott-Nelson condition report is available to prospective purchasers.
