This 1963 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ7 Mk II underwent a repaint in ivory white, an interior re-trim in red leather, and a reported rebuild of its 2.9-liter inline-six as part of a refurbishment completed circa 2013 before being acquired by the seller in 2019. The car wears a tan soft top with a matching top boot and rides on 15″ knock-off wire wheels. Shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission linked with an electric overdrive unit, and further equipment includes a Moto-Lita steering wheel and 2+2 seating along with dual SU carburetors and front disc brakes. This 3000 Mk IIA is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, a tool kit, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Ivory White (WT3) and was repainted in the course of the aforementioned refurbishment. It wears a replacement tan folding soft top paired with a matching top boot and tonneau cover. Further details include a hood scoop, a wraparound windshield, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured with two-ear knock-offs and mounted with 165-width Michelin XZX tires. The front disc and rear drum brakes were overhauled in 2019, according to the seller.
The re-trimmed 2+2 cabin features bucket seats upholstered in red leather with ivory piping. Further interior appointments include a Smiths cabin heater as well as door storage pockets, quarter-vent glass, and hand-crank windows.
The split-spoke Moto-Lita steering wheel features a wood rim and frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination readout displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 17k miles, approximately 700 of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HS6 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 136 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque. The engine is said to have been rebuilt as part of the aforementioned refurbishment process. Maintenance in 2025 has involved replacing the battery and fuel pump in addition to performing fluid changes.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors, equipment, and serial numbers along with a build date in March 1963.
