This 1963 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ7 Mk IIA is finished in British Racing Green over black upholstery and is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a black soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, servo-assisted front disc brakes, a top boot, a tonneau cover, a hood scoop, a cabin heater, and front bucket seats. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2015, reportedly from the daughter of its original owner. This 3000 Mk IIA is now offered on dealer consignment with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, the owner’s manual, and a clean Arizona title.
The car is finished in British Racing Green and features a folding black soft top, a top boot, a tonneau cover, a badge bar, a hood scoop, bright trim, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Paint repairs were performed on the passenger front fender in 2007.
The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Vredestein tires measuring 185/70. Braking is handled by servo-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The two-plus-two cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black, and interior appointments include a cabin heater, door storage pockets, and a passenger-side grab handle.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths white-dial instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 40k miles, approximately 1,200 of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HS6 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 136 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque. A Wizard Cooling aluminum radiator has been installed, and a replacement fuel tank was fitted in 2007.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock-de Normanville electric overdrive.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate lists the factory colors, serial numbers, and equipment along with a build date in June 1963.
Car number HBJ7L24426 is shown above, and the sequence is used as the VIN on the Maryland title prepended by “63.”
