For sale on e-bay: cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

1965 Austin Healy 3000. This is an original original survivor car with only 36,000 actual miles. Two owners since new, stored by professional mechanic for the last 25 years.

This car was delivered new in Germany to a USAF pilot. As a requirement for sale in Germany the car has a non adjustable steering column, the speedometer reads in kilometers, and the temperature gauge is marked in degrees centigrade. The original owner also added an oil temperature gauge and an amp gauge above the radio.

With the exception of a new paint job 25 years ago this car is completely original. The interior is clean and free of any major wear or tear. There is minor separation of the stitching on one of the rear seat bottoms, and some very minor separation of seat fabric on the outer sides of the front seats. Beyond these minor imperfections the interior is near perfect. The wooden dash is shiny and has no cracks or imperfections. The body has 2 minor scratches on the drivers door, and three small stone chips on the right front fender. The paint is crisp, shiny, and looks outstanding-it is a head turner. The chrome is in outstanding original condition. The floorboards are solid, rust free, and original. The overdrive is properly wired and works in third and fourth gear with the kickdown switch as it came from the factory. It has the original spare tire, boot cover and tonneau cover with the tonneau brace. The top was replaced in about 1995 and is in outstanding shape.

Under the hood the car is original with the exception of routine maintenance items. The water pump and starter are new. The ignition is equipped with a Lucas Sport Coil.

The car runs and drives beautifully. The transmission shifts without scraping. The engine runs smoothly, starts well and holds good oil pressure. The car pulls strongly and has plenty of power. It is an excellent driver and looks extraordinary!

This car (with the exception of paint) is an original car. Everything that is supposed to be on an Austin Healey is on this car and works as it should. A car is original only once, and this one is that rare unrestored and unmolested car that is still in outstanding shape. It has always been serviced by professional British Car Mechanics and has never had anything rigged, bypassed, or otherwise destroyed by unknowing but well meaning repairmen. This car is right, solid, and original.

An Ansa exhaust system installed in the early 1980's is still in excellent shape and gives the car that perfect Big Healy sound.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
