This 1964 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III was delivered to Baltimore, Maryland, on November 6, 1964, and it later spent nearly two decades off the road in Nevada before it was refurbished in the early 2000s. Refinished in green over black vinyl upholstery, the car is equipped with a black soft top, tonneau cover, and top boot in addition to 15″ Minator wheels and front disc brakes. Power is provided by a 2.9-liter inline-six that is backed by a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. This 3000 Mk III was acquired by the selling dealer in 2024 and is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, refurbishment photos, and a Pennsylvania title describing the car as a 1966 model.
The car left the factory finished in Ivory White and was refinished in its current shade of green during the refurbishment. It has a black soft top, top boot, and tonneau cover.
Minator eight-spoke 15″ wheels are mounted with 195/65 Cooper Grand touring tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features front bucket seats and individual rear seats trimmed in black Ambla vinyl with contrasting piping, while wood trim accents the dashboard. Interior appointments include a cabin heater, a center console, a locking glovebox, and a passenger-side grab handle.
A replacement woodgrain-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths black-dial instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. An ammeter is mounted to the left of the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 93k miles, approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD8 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 150 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. The engine was overhauled in the early 2000s, and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive that operates in third and fourth gears.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate shows factory equipment and indicates that the car was completed on November 3, 1964, for the North American market.
An album of photos showing various stages of the refurbishment will accompany the car.
The current Pennsylvania title carries a “Not the Actual Mileage” brand.
