This 1965 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III was refurbished by British Restorations Corp. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 2018, including a repaint, a refresh of the interior, a rebuild of the engine, and overhauls of the brakes, suspension, electrical system, and fuel components. The car is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and it is finished in Healey Blue over blue vinyl. Equipment includes a dark blue soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, a top boot, a hood scoop, a cabin heater, and front bucket seats. This 3000 Mk III was acquired by the selling dealer in 2025 and is now offered at no reserve with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, service records, spare parts, and transferable New York registration, listing it as a 1966 model year.

Finished from the factory in Dark British Racing Green, the car was repainted in Healey Blue during the refurbishment in 2018 following the completion of body work, which reportedly involved replacing the sills, rocker panels, trunk board, toe boards, floor boards, and dog legs. The bumpers, headlight surrounds, and grille were replaced and additional chrome was replaced or reconditioned as necessary. A dark blue Everlex top and boot were also installed along with a replacement windshield and door glass.

The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 185/70RH15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that show date codes from 2017. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. The front and rear suspension were rebuilt during the refurbishment, and the brake master cylinder, hoses, and lines were replaced. The pinion seal was replaced and the front wheel bearings adjusted in July 2025.

The 2+2 cabin was reupholstered in blue vinyl during the refurbishment, including re-trimming the dash and door panels. Replacement switchgear was also installed along with front seat belts and a replacement shift boot. The heater core and control valve were replaced by the selling dealer.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths black-dial instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 6k miles.

The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD8 carburetors from the factory and was rebuilt in 2018 as part of the refurbishment. The electrical system was also overhauled and the fuel tank, pump, sending unit, and lines were replaced. Work in 2021 involved installing an alternator and replacing the voltage regulator, points, and a bent pushrod.

Engine tag 29K/RU/H6749 corresponds to the BMIHT certificate.

The four-speed manual transmission and Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive were rebuilt in 2020, and the third and fourth gear synchros were replaced. The clutch hydraulic cylinders were replaced during the refurbishment. Corrosion on the underside is visible.

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate lists the factory colors and equipment along with a build date in June 1965.
