This particular Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 was built in the final year of Healey production and was one of just 14 cars exported in RHD specification. It was delivered to the warm dry climate of Cyprus where it lived a much-loved life having had just two previous owners.
The car was sold in the 1980's to its second Cypriot owner who as a precision engineer set upon a detailed restoration that took 10 years eventually being completed in 2006. The reason for the lengthy time of the restoration was due to retaining as much of the original parts as possible which meant individually restoring each item on the car and only replacing parts where absolutely necessary.
Unfortunately financial circumstances meant the car had to be sold after it had covered just 5200 miles since the restoration. It then found itself back in its birthplace where lack of space has necessitated the sale of the car. Since its return to the UK the car has had £3,500 spent on finishing touches to the car, which is supported by a three-page invoice from respected specialist 'RetroMarques'.
Presented in stunning condition as a result of a true "labour of love" restoration. This Big Healey is currently unregistered and is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner wherever he maybe.
*Please note the car is presented with a FIVA Identity certificate and has no TAX or VAT payable. It also car complies with the latest NOVA Import legislation with a approved application. Silverstone Auctions will be happy to help with registration of the vehicle within the UK.
