This 1965 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III is finished in red over black vinyl upholstery and powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes a roll bar, a black soft top and boot cover, dual SU carburetors, 15” knock-off wire wheels, and fender-mounted side mirrors. This Austin-Healey is being offered by the selling dealer with a pair of rubber floor mats and a clean Missouri title.
The car is finished in red and is believed to have been repainted some time ago. Exterior features include a replacement black soft top and boot cover, chrome bumpers with overriders, and dual fender-mounted bullet-style side mirrors. Various paint imperfections are noted by the seller, along with a patched hole in the boot cover.
Silver-painted 15” wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with Dunlop SP 20 tires. A full-size spare is found in the trunk. Braking is through front discs and rear drums. The seller notes that the leaf springs were replaced during previous ownership.
The cabin houses bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl, and features include a fire extinguisher affixed to the roll bar that was installed by the previous owner, along with a rearview mirror, woodgrain dash trim, and lap belts for the front occupants. The black carpets are faded, and a pair of rubber floor mats will accompany the vehicle, along with the removed rear seat back.
A banjo-style steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 42k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and a Mallory electronic distributor. The seller notes that the wiring harness was replaced and a stainless-steel exhaust system installed during previous ownership. A fluid change is said to have been performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The overdrive switch was installed during previous ownership.
