Car listed as sold at:

Seller's description:
1966 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MK3 PHASE 2 BJ-8 SPORTS CONVERTIBLE. METALLIC GOLDEN BEIGE WITH RED TRIM. BLACK TOP, TONNEAU, AND TOP BOOT. 4-SPEED WITH OVERDRIVE GEARBOX. 60-SPOKE CHROME/STAINLESS WIRE WHEELS. MOTO-LITA WHEEL. EXCELLENT, GROUND-UP, NUT AND BOLT, KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS CAR FINISHED TO CLUB CONCOURS STANDARDS. RARE OPPORTUNITY.
Exquisite 3000 MK3 BJ-8 Phase 2 Convertible finished in arguably the most desirable color scheme. This car underwent a total, professional, frame-off restoration by Kurt Tanner Restorations in the past and is still showing incredibly well. It’s accrued some minimal, caring miles since but is still presenting in nearly as-new condition.
The bodywork and paint on this car still look superb with only a few minor marks from normal use. The basecoat-clearcoat Metallic Golden Beige paintwork is stunning in any light, and panels open and close with very nice fit and finish. Chromework is holding up very well, along with perfect new glass, rubber, and other body fittings. Grille fit is excellent.
The car’s interior still looks quite crisp in it’s striking upholstery kit in Red Ambla with imitation gold piping, originally supplied by John Skinner, Ltd. in the UK. This matching kit incorporates front and rear seat kits, armrest, and panel kit. The carpets still look great with vibrant color. The wood dashboard and steering wheel are automotive jewelry.
The car is supplied with a Concours correct Everflex soft top, top boot and tonneau cover in their bags. Other extras includes, jack and handle, knock-off tool, box of spare parts, and photo album documenting the car’s ground-up restoration and additional paperwork accrued since.
The car’s underside shows minimal use as intended. It appears that it hasn’t been detailed or cleaned since the restoration, but if one desires it would easily detail back to near new condition with some light degreaser and a pressure wash.
Overall, this superb BJ-8 in perfect colors is a rare opportunity to acquire a “Kurt Tanner Restorations” car – something that hasn’t been freshly available on the market for over 5 years now…This well-restored Austin Healey is a scarce private offering to acquire a lovely example of these late desirable BJ-8 Grand Tourers.
