1966 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MK III ROADSTER #HBJ8l34372. (Stock #3859).

Our car was built from December 17 through 20, 1965 and delivered new to Dusseldorf, Germany on January 5, 1966. German delivery cars were built to the same specification as U.S. delivery cars and, sometime over the next 20 years, the car made its way to the U.S. It was then purchased as an anniversary gift to themselves by a New Jersey couple in the 1980's and has been owned by them ever since. Finished in Colorado red with original black interior--as per the car's accompanying British Heritage Trust Certificate, the car is as original, in excellent condition throughout and drives beautifully. $53,000.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
