Details:
The Austin-Healey 3000 MK III BJ8 Ph II sports convertible was the final variation of a long line of Big Healey sports cars starting with the 100-4 model of 1953. The MK III was produced from 1964 to 1967 and was arguably the fastest, most comfortable and nicest riding model of Healeys. This is evident in the market today as this model commands the highest price of the production cars and excellent restored examples are very much sought after. This Grand Touring Big Healey was recently purchased as an excellent, straight, solid, long-time California car and has just completed a total cosmetic and partial mechanical restoration by premier marque specialist Kurt Tanner Restorations. Finished in the rare and desirable color scheme, for 1967 only, of Metallic Golden Beige with red trim and black top. This exceptional MK III convertible features a 4-speed overdrive gearbox, chrome/stainless wire wheels, adjustable steering wheel and heater. Details of the restoration include new show quality two-stage body and paint work, completely new interior, top, top boot, new rubber kit, brakes, fuel system, re-plated hardware, detailed driveline and undercarriage, new wiring harness and electrics, new exhaust system, new stainless wire wheels and tires. A superb example of the final model and year of the Austin-Healey marque. This 1967 BJ8 MK III convertible represents exceptional value and good investment potential. It has completed only test miles since its recent, top-quality restoration and is now ready for immediate use and enjoyment. In recognition of its restoration this special Healey earned its Junior National First Place Award at the Southeast Antique Auto Club National Meet in March 2010.

There is another BJ8 claiming the VIN HBJ8L36330 and having the original factory VIN plate for that car; however, it does not have the features matching the original manufacturing details of 36330 per the BMIHT certificate. Anyone reading this who knows the whereabouts of the car described above, please contact the BJ8 Registry (Google it!) so we can sort out this conflict.
