This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III BJ8 is in British Racing Green with Black.
This Healey has benefited from a body-on restoration from 2001 until its completion in 2009 and has less than 500 miles logged since the restoration was initiated.
The exterior in British Racing Green is perfectly matched to the cars original specification. Heritage Certificate with car. The interior, top and boot are finished in black. This color combination is considered the most desirable for the big Healeys.
This die straight body displays impressive panel fit with tight closing gaps and special attention to detail, fit and finish.
Some paint imperfections on the right side fender seam. A small impression on the hood scoop chrom trim.
Mechanically, the car excels. The 6 cylinder engine runs strong and very smoothly with adequate power. A full service completed in Sept 2011 including valve adjustment and all fluids.
The cooling system is sound and the original 4 speed electric overdrive transmission works properly. The gearbox is quiet, the ratios are right and the shifting is smooth.
The wood dash fascia is refinished to a factory smooth finish. All glass is in excellent condition. The electrical system components have been restored as needed and meticulously maintained.
The BMIHT Heritage Certificate, owners manual, black tonneau, jack and spare will be presented to the new owner.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
