MotorCarTrader.com is pleased to offer another beautiful British Sports Cars. This stunning 1967 Austin Healey 3000 Mark III BJ8 was built November 9th-16th of 1966 and the date of dispatch was November 21 of 1966. The original dealer was in Mobile, Alabama, USA. We purchased this car form a collector we have bought multiple cars from. He owned this wonderful car for nearly 40 years. His primary goal owning this car, was to make it as nice a driver he could with excellent driving upgrades and for it also to handle the warmer weather in Texas. The car only has 38,650 miles which we understand to be original. The previous owner did keep a log of most of the work he did since we purchased the car. This car is a driver type car and it is not a show car and because of that there were several driving upgrades completed. The upgrades, work completed but not limited to and more information on the car is as follows:
New water pump
New kingpins
New rear springs
New front springs
Rebuilt generator
New lighter cooling fan with more blades for better cooling.
Aluminum radiator installed.
Brake calipers rebuilt, new master cylinder and brake servo installed.
Slotted brake discs installed.
New battery.
New spin on oil filter assembly installed.
New Mallory distributor installed.
New clutch slave and master cylinder
At 38,143 miles the engine was completely rebuilt.
New alternator and converted to negative ground.
Transmission tunnel, exhaust and floors insulated to cut down on heat in cabin.
New 72-spoke performance painted wire wheels installed.
Compression tested on 7/31/24 and was excellent of 165 to 175 across all 6 cylinders.
The electric overdrive does work as it should.
A new aluminum fuel tank was installed.
The underside and frame are mostly original and all solid. The floors and trunk floor were replaced.
Comes equipped with dark red tonneau cover.
The soft top is older and functional, but eventually could benefit from replacement if needed.
The interior, seats and upholstery are in excellent mostly original condition.
Gear reduction starter installed.
Included are records going back to 1993.
A Heritage Certificate comes with the car and confirms it is a numbers matching car with the original engine.
A sport exhaust was installed which comes out under the driver side door with a throatier and more muscular sound. An original style exhaust also goes with the car as well as the original steering wheel.
