This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive and is finished in green over black vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a black soft top, driving lights, headlight guards, bullet-style side mirrors, 15” wire wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, a heater, and dual SU carburetors. The car spent time in New York prior to the seller’s acquisition in 2006, at which point it was relocated to Washington State. The carburetors and the overdrive unit were reportedly overhauled under current ownership. This BJ8 is offered at no reserve with a clean Washington State title in the seller’s name listing the car as a 1967 AC.
The car is finished in green and is said to have been repainted under prior ownership. Features include a black soft top, a badge bar, headlight guards, driving lights, bullet-style side mirrors, and chrome bumpers with overriders. There are tears in the soft top fabric and the rubber trim on the driver’s side is split. The photos were taken in May 2022.
Chrome-finished 15” wire wheels wear two-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with Firestone F-560 tires that have pre-2000 date codes. A matching spare is stored in the trunk. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The 2+2 cabin houses low-back front bucket seats and rear jump seats trimmed in black vinyl along with a color-coordinated dash pad and door panels. Appointments include a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, a wood-trimmed shift knob, a heater, and black floor mats with white Austin-Healey script. The varnished wood veneer trim shows cracking.
The Moto-Lita steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 140-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 24k miles, approximately 4k of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The dual SU carburetors and the overdrive unit were reportedly overhauled under current ownership. Additional work is said to have included installing an electric radiator fan along with replacing the clutch assembly and muffler. There is a differential leak.
The sway bar bushings are cracked, and additional photos are provided in the image gallery below.
The Washington State title lists the car as a 1967 AC.
