This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III is said to have remained with its original owner until 1982 and was acquired by the seller from the reported second owner in early 2025. Finished in blue with a blue soft top over blue Ambla vinyl upholstery, the car is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Features include 15″ wire wheels, front disc brakes, a top boot, a tonneau cover, front and rear lap belts, an AM radio, and dual SU carburetors. The vehicle was not driven regularly in recent years, and in January 2025 the fuel tank, tires, distributor, spark plugs, and battery were replaced. This Healey is now offered with service records since 2014, tire-changing tools, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in blue and features a blue folding soft top, a top boot, a tonneau cover, a hood scoop, a driver-side mirror, bright trim, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The top is torn on the passenger side near the rear window.
Silver-painted 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 165-series Michelin XZX tires that were replaced in January 2025. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. The brakes were overhauled in 2014, and the brake fluid was flushed in preparation for the sale.
The 2+2 cabin features bucket seats trimmed in blue Ambla vinyl. Interior appointments include wood trim, a British Motor Corporation AM radio, MG-branded front and rear lap belts, a heater, and a locking glovebox.
The banjo-style steering wheel has an aftermarket wrap. Smiths black-dial instrumentation consists of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 18k miles, approximately 20 of which were added by the seller. The fuel and oil gauges were rebuilt in 2017.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD8 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 150 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. The carburetors were rebuilt in 2014 and the fuel pump and radiator were replaced. After a period of disuse, an aluminum fuel tank was installed in January 2025, the oil was changed, and the distributor, spark plugs, battery, and carburetor needles and seats were replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive. The clutch was replaced in 2017. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.
