Ebay item 6/19/08 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___1961-Austin-Healey-100-just-restored-LIKE- ...
Opening bid $20,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $62k.
Sellers description:
The car was just restored at a cost of $ 90000.00 US dollars. Due to unspected illness the owner never took posession of the car so it has "0" miles since restored, we trucked the car from the shop to our indoor facility in Steerling Virginia. This car has had one owner sice 1868, it car was driven often and then sent to the restoration shop 5 years ago, it was finished 6 months ago, but never left the shop until now. Completelly rebuilt from the ground up, all gaps in the body are perfect, it drives spectacularly. WE guatanty total satisfaction, so please have some one inspect the car before bidding. There are several companies in the area that specilize in Healys or we can put you in touch with one. We have inspected the vehicle and after owning several Healeys we can descrive this one as spectacular.

Nice looking car but something is wrong. This chassis number is for a right hand drive 2-seater and is earlier than my 1960 car. The car in the picture is obviously a left hand drive 4-seater and a later mk2 model with centre change gearbox. This car and chassis number do not belong together!

Car now offered at:

Sellers description:
1961 Austin Healey Mk. I 3000 BT7
s/n HBN7L/6820, Engine no. 29D/RU/H8575
White with Black and White Piping interior
This particular car is a fully restored example, with over $86,000 in invoices for work completed between 2004 and 2008. The restoration was both mechanical and cosmetic, and included body, paint, chrome, engine, transmission, cooling and brake system rebuilds, among many other works. The end result was a "number 1" car, fit for concours showing. Many correct details, equipment, and finishes are in place. The wheels, tires, and top material are all new, and in excellent condition accordingly. At the time of the restoration, any corrosion which may have existed was professionally corrected with new metal.
Today the car remains very nice, with few miles logged since the restoration was completed. The car runs and drives well, with working overdrive, accurate steering, and effective brakes. Upgrades include an external oil filter and a Moto-Lita wood rimmed steering wheel.
Included with the car is a photo documentation of the restoration process detailing the vast scope of the work, as well as the actual invoices, an Austin Healey resource book, and an appraisal from 2007, estimating the value to be $89,990.
*Note that there is an anomaly with the identification of this car in that it was, mostly likely at the factory, tagged as a BN7, while it is actually a BT7 in construction (4-seat).
