The engine installed in your car (29K/RU/H4135) was original to HBJ8L/29377, an Ivory White car that is now also in Australia (in Grafton, NSW). If you are interested in more information, please contact the BJ8 Registry: sbyers@ec.rr.com

This car was imported into Australia from Texas by Bruce Dixon and Rob Rowland around the late 1980’s. It was all black then and had triple SU carbs, a moto lita wood rim steering wheel and a correctly louvred bonnet. I bought the car from Bruce and Rob and started to restore the car. John Elliott was keen to buy a two seater big Healey and bought the car from me around the late 1990’s and continued to restore the car with some help and support from his friend and fellow big Healey owner John Trewarne.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
