Car listed as sold at:
sportsclassics.co.uk/cars/ultra-rare-genuine-1962-bn7-tri-carb/

Seller's description:
Built 2/12/1962 and imported into the USA via Sanfrancisco. This may well be a unique car and a special factory order. We are checking with the British heritage section at the motor museum and have applied for a heritage certificate. The car was originally ivory white exterior with a black Interior, with black soft top and a factory hard top. It was supplied from the factory with laminated windscreen, wire wheels, heater and adjustable steering column. This car is one of only 126 LHD centre change cars produced.

BN7L18009 is a matching numbers car and confirmed on the tri carb registry. The last owner of the car previously passed away. Tom Anderson was well known in Healey circles and had close friends with whom he did road trips around the USA. I have spoken with friends, one who is the current Healey owners club president local to me in the USA. from my conversations I understand Tom pestered the previous owner for more than five years to sell the car to him.

The car was owned by Tom from around 1985 and can be seen in its current livery of Colorado red at the Austin Healey national conclave in Shangri-la Oklahoma. The picture at the event shows carol Shelby with the car, he had a wonderful history intertwined with Healey and so many other wonderful iconic sports cars.

This car is to have a total restoration through our workshops in the UK. Only serious enquiries please, the Gooding car shown was sold by them at their prestigious auction at Pebble Beach in 2014 at $203000!

I have spoken to Angus based at their office in New York and he is providing me with the file for this car. This will be the bench mark for this restoration. This will be a wonderful, possibly unique Austin Healey restored to the most exacting standards. Currently the car is in a good overall condition as it has sat unused for around 8 year. we desire to retain as much original metalwork as possible. Any panels will be hand made, produced and supplied by David Hardwick Engineering. His craftsmanship being the ultimate accolade to compliment the finest restorations.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
