This 1961 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I BN7 is finished in blue and white and powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a black soft top, leather seats, a heater, knock-off wheels, dual SU carburetors, and chrome bumpers and trim. The car was first delivered in Miami, and it was acquired by the current owner in 2016. Work performed during current ownership included repainting the body, refreshing the interior, and overhauling the engine. This Mk I BN7 is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, refurbishment records, a workshop manual, and New York registration.
The seller notes that the car was refinished in Pacific Blue with Old English White coves in 2019 by Tuxedo Motor Sport, following the replacement of the door skins, quarter panels, and floors. Additional work reportedly included replacing the soft top, windshield, and bumpers as well as re-chroming the windshield frame, trim, and door handles. A front bumper apron is included in the sale.
Chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The car is equipped with front disc brakes. The shocks were rebuilt and the wheels, tires, springs, and brake lines were replaced during current ownership.
An interior refresh during current ownership was carried out by Sports and Classics of Stamford, Connecticut and included installing green carpets and recovering the buckets seats in Oyster leather with contrasting piping. Equipment includes a heater, a dash-mounted mirror, and a passenger grab bar.
The banjo-style steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer was reset during the refurbishment and shows 1k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six has been converted to a negative-ground electrical system and is equipped with dual SU carburetors. Work in 2017 reportedly included overhauling the engine, rebuilding the distributor and carburetors, and replacing the exhaust system, fuel pump, fuel tank, radiator, clutch, and fuel lines. A cloth-wrapped wiring harness has been installed, and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists the original colors and specifications. A workshop manual, a service parts list, a car cover, and the seller’s service records are included in the sale.
The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its registration.
