This 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 is a four-seat roadster that was imported to St. Louis, Missouri in 1960 and is said to have moved to Kentucky late in the same decade. The car was reportedly stored between 1976 and 1996, then purchased by its previous owner and refurbished in black over red in 2000. Power is from a 2,912cc inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a Laycock overdrive unit, and additional equipment consists of painted wire wheels, a Smiths heater, and an adjustable steering column. Service since the seller’s acquisition in 2020 included an oil change and replacement of a radiator hose. This Big Healey is offered with a matching hardtop, a tonneau cover, a knock-off mallet, a spare wheel and hood, a BMIHT certificate, and a clean Kentucky title in the seller’s name.

The body was finished in black from the factory and wears a repaint said to have been applied around the year 2000. Details include Mk 1 horizontal grille strips, fender mirrors, and a louvered hood. The factory optional white fiberglass hardtop was refinished to match. A soft top is not included, though the car comes with a snap-on tonneau cover. A spare hood is also included in the sale.

Wire knock-off wheels are painted silver and mounted with 165R15 Centred Metric Radial tires. Braking is via Girling discs up front and drums in the rear.

The four-place cockpit is trimmed in red upholstery with contrast piping, and black vinyl mats protect matching carpets. A removable bow supports the tonneau cover when mounted over the rear seats. The banjo-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and is mounted on an optional adjustable steering column. Turn signals are operated with a hub-mounted trafficator switch. The upholstered red dash houses controls for the Smiths heater, a toggle switch to the driver’s right activating the Laycock overdrive, and Smiths gauges with yellowed faces. The fuel gauge is inoperable, and the five-digit odometer shows 65k miles. Approximately 500 miles have been driven by the seller, and actual mileage is unknown. A fifth wire wheel is housed in the trunk along with a scissor-lift jack and a knock-off mallet.

The 2,912cc C-series inline-six features twin SU carburetors and was rated at 136 horsepower with 167 lb-ft of torque when new. A four-speed manual transmission and electrically-actuated Laycock deNormanville overdrive unit route power to the live rear axle, which features a 3.91:1 final drive ratio. The seller has changed the oil and replaced the lower radiator hose in preparation for the sale.

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate displays factory data including production dates, drivetrain numbers, delivery location, and options. A two-volume copy of the factory service parts list is also included.
