Heritage Notes
This data is from Heritage, but all i could give them is the data for the engine. The car VIN is a compilation of 1960 engine in a 1958 car. (VIN was changed before I bought the car). The mechanics and myself have agreed it is a 1958 BN4 (drum brakes) with a 1960 3000 engine (automatic choke)
Owner: Rob Madsen
This is my second healey - the first one (1959 BN4) was totaled in a collision with a suburban in 1985. Soon after, I bought this one. Currently in 4+ year restoration. (email)Updated November 4th, 2017. Not legal proof of ownership. |

The Car is in rebuild, nearly done. As best as I can tell it is a 1958 BN4 with a 1960 3000 Mark I engine. if it didn't have drum brakes all around, i would think it is a 1960. The vin tag is missing, but i used all other info to go to Heritage and get what certification i could get (reflected in this record). Heritage thinks it is a 1960 BT7 - which makes sense except for the 4 drum brakes. Heritage says disks in front, drums in back (which is standard).

After significant research, the mechanics and I have come to realize that the car is really a 1960 3000/BT7. The car was in several serious crashes in its lifetime as was evidenced in the original chassis that i replaced. The drum brakes were added instead of disks probably in the 1960s when used parts were readily available after one of the collisions.
