This 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 Mk II was refurbished under prior ownership and is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired that is equipped with triple SU carburetors and is backed by a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The car is finished in blue over dark blue upholstery with white piping, and equipment includes a black soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, Bilstein dampers, front disc brakes, a hood scoop, detachable side windows, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, and a cabin heater. This 3000 Mk II was acquired by the current owner in August 2015 and is now offered on dealer consignment with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate and a clean Missouri title.
The car left the factory finished in Healey Blue (BU2) and was repainted under prior ownership. It is equipped with a replacement black soft top, a hood scoop, bright trim, and chrome bumpers with overriders. A hole in the soft top is shown in the gallery below, the windshield washer system does not work, and there are blemishes on the detachable side windows.
Knock-off 15″ wire wheels are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires measuring. Bilstein dampers are fitted, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The 2+2 cabin was refreshed at some point under prior ownership and features bucket seats trimmed in dark blue with white piping as well as a cabin heater and storage pockets on the doors.
The Moto-Lita steering wheel frames Smiths white-dial instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 51k miles, a handfuld of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured triple SU HS4 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 136 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock-de Normanville electric overdrive. Corrosion on the driveshaft, exhaust components, and undercarriage bolts is noted.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate shows that the car was built on September 15, 1961, and dispatched to New York. Factory colors, production numbers, and equipment are also detailed.
