Seller's description:
1961 Austin Healey 3000 MKI BT7 Tri-carb

Built in October 1961, restoration completed October 2015. Austin Healey 3000 Mk II chassis H-BT7-L/15384. This Mk II is a genuine North American Export car. Original destination was the Hambro Automotive Corporation, Philadelphia. During the cars restoration it retained its LHD status and was restored to the correct Healey 3000 colour of Colorado Red with black interior. This 3000 MK II has had a full engine rebuild & lead-free conversion, and is fitted with an uprated fuel pump, adjustable steering column and new 72 spoke wire wheels and overdrive.

This a structurally excellent car. Restored on its original chassis, the car has superb panel gaps, the car was rebuilt using its original outer wings, shrouds and doors but now has an aluminium bonnet and boot. An all-new interior with black leather seats with red piping, black vinyl hood and dashboard. The engine was machined and rebuilt to its original specification. It has excellent oil pressure hot or cold, runs smoothly and is well balanced. The car is fitted with its rebuilt original gearbox and rear axle. Running on its original triple 1”1/2 SU carbs. This was a no expense spared 100% restoration. Ideal for touring or shows. This desirable rare 3000 Mk II is offered for sale with UK V5C Registration Document, Heritage certificate, MOT certificate, 2 sets of keys, a spare wheel spanner and hammer.

Fully documented with over 700 photos of the restoration process. Itemised parts list confirming the restoration costs. Commissioning a specialist to restore a Healey to this standard would now exceed £130K. We can price converting this car to RHD if required.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
