This 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 Mk II is finished in red over white leather and is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes a white convertible top and tonneau cover, 15″ painted wire wheels, front disc brakes, a fender-mounted mirror, chrome bumpers, a hood scoop, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror. The car was acquired by the seller in November 2016 and was reportedly refurbished during previous ownership. Service performed in 2021 consisted of installing a high torque starter and a Flame-Thrower coil and replacing the spark plug wires and speedometer angle drive. This BT7 is offered with a BMIHT certificate and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in red and is said to have been repainted during previous ownership. Equipment includes a white convertible top and tonneau cover, a hood scoop, a fender-mounted driver-side mirror, chrome bumpers, and dual-outlet exhaust pipes. There is a tear in the convertible top where it meets the windshield.
Silver 15″ wire wheels feature two-eared chrome knock-off hubs and are wrapped in 165-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The front bucket seats and rear seats are trimmed in white leather with red piping and are said to have been reupholstered during previous ownership. Black Austin-Healey floor mats protect red carpets, and additional details include an overdrive switch, a dash-mounted rear view mirror, a heater, a center armrest, and a chrome passenger grab handle. The driver-side door latch has reportedly been repaired.
The banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges monitoring oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The speedometer angle drive was replaced in February 2021. The five-digit odometer shows 31k miles, approximately 2k of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six is equipped with a trio of SU HS4 carburetors. A high torque starter and a Flame-Thrower coil have been added, and the spark plug wires were replaced in 2021. The engine seeps oil.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with an overdrive unit. The shifter pops out of second gear during heavy acceleration.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate shows the factory colors and equipment as well as a build date between November and December 1961.
