I bought the Healey from Don in Devine Texas in May, 2006. The car was orginal color was Red and is now painted Old English White. I drove it from San Antonio to West Palm Beach and just came back from a trip thru the Great Smoky Mountains and on Hwy 129's The Dragons Tail. It was worth the trip.

I've made seven trips of over 2000 miles each since 2006. 1st trip rear wheel lugs came loose. 2nd trip harmonic balancer came apart.3rd trip alternator bracket broke., 4th,5th,6th 7th, OK. Maybe I've worked out most of the bugs.

The engine installed in this car (29K/RU/H9765) was original to HBJ8L/35019, a Healey Blue car that was Red in 1989 and previously located in Texas and Mississippi.

Rear wheel lugs nuts will come loose if the self-locking (prevailing torque) nuts attaching the hubs are reused too many times, and/or not torqued to 70 lb-ft. on installation.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
