Description from above auction:
French title
Chassis n° HBJ8L29257
- Lecoq restoration
- Superb presentation
Having been bought by the previous owner in December 2001 at a Poulain-Le Fur auction, this car underwent a complete restoration in 2006 in the renowned Lecoq workshops. It was stripped down, prepared and given the livery it retains today, Healey blue over Old English White, with hood and seats in blue vinyl and matching tonneau cover. On the mechanical front, the suspension was completely overhauled, as were the brakes, with Dunlop discs fitted at the rear (as on the last rally versions). It was fitted with electric ignition, electric fan, an aluminium fuel tank and a side exhaust that allows the 3-litre six-cylinder engine to make a wonderful sound. In 2013 the car changed hands at the Artcurial Retromobile sale, and has since benefitted from a thorough service at Vintage Auto, that included replacing the servo-assisted brakes.
This MkIII Phase 2 version was one of the most advanced of the " Big Healeys " and is also the most sought-after.
Estimation 60 000 - 70 000 €
