This 1966 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III was mechanically and cosmetically refurbished in Wisconsin between 1989 and 1991, and it spent time in the Netherlands before returning to the US in 1994. The car is finished in red over black and features a black convertible top and top boot as well as an AM/FM/cassette radio, dual exhaust tips, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, and front disc brakes. Power is provided by a 2.9-liter inline-six equipped with dual SU carburetors and paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. This BJ8 was purchased by the owner in 2020 and is now offered on dealer consignment with service and refurbishment records, refurbishment photos, and an Arizona title.
The body was repaired and refinished in red during the aforementioned refurbishment completed by Fourintune of Cedarburg, Wisconsin. The frame and suspension components were finished in red, and additional details include a black convertible top, a black top boot, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are mounted with two-ear knockoffs and wear 185/65 Michelin Rainforce A/S tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, and the seller states the front sway bar bushings were replaced in preparation for the sale.
The front bucket seats and individual rear seats are upholstered in black vinyl with gold piping. Appointments include black carpets, an AM/FM cassette radio, and wood dash trim.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel is mounted on an adjustable steering column and fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge for oil pressure and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 54k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six is fed by dual SU carburetors and was factory rated at 148 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. The engine was rebuilt during the refurbishment in the early 1990s.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
