Seller's description:
The example on offer here, chassis number HBJ8L35548 and engine number 29KRUH10139, is a 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MK III. It is finished in an interesting and originally available color combination of Golden Beige Metallic with Red interior. Though the original colors were White with a Black interior, this highly sought after factory color combination was commonly offered on the later BJ8s. Not much is known regarding the cars early history but the car was treated to a full nut-and-bolt restoration by marque experts, BRC of Philadelphia, who are world renowned for their restorations of Big Healeys. They have restored over 600 “Big Healeys” and their knowledge and craftsmanship truly show in the stunning results that come out of their workshop. Though the car was restored over approximately 8 years ago, it presents excellently with less than 1000 carefully driven miles since restoration completion.
It is offered with BMIHT certificate, spare and boot cover in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

This 1966 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III was refurbished by British Restoration Corporation (BRC) of Philadelphia under prior ownership and was acquired by the current owner in 2018. It is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive and has been refinished in Metallic Golden Beige over red leather. Features include a black soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, a top boot, a hood scoop, driving lights, and a Moto-Lita steering wheel. This 3000 Mk III is now offered on dealer consignment with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, an owner’s manual, and an Indiana title, listing it as a 1967 model.
Finished from the factory in Ivory White, the car was repainted in Metallic Golden Beige (BG19) during the refurbishment and features a folding black soft top, a top boot, a hood scoop, Lucas driving lights attached to a badge bar, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 185-width Vredenstein Sprint tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The 2+2 cabin features bucket seats that have been re-trimmed in red leather, and interior appointments include a radio blanking plate, lap belts, a locking glovebox, and wood trim.
The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel frames Smiths black-dial instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 72k miles, approximately 7k of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD8 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 150 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. The fuel pump was replaced and a spin-on oil filter added in 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive.
The car is titled using the car number listed on the reproduction chassis plate shown above.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate shows the factory colors and serial numbers along with a build date in March 1966.
The Indiana title lists “Exempt” under the brands section.
