Sold by Fantasy Junction. www.fantasyjunction.com/cars/493-Austin-Healey-3000%20BJ8-inline-6 1966 Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk. III Phase II s/n H-BJ8-L/35562, Engine # 29K-RU-H/10218 Green with Black Leather and Green Piping A one owner car since 1979, this example was fully restored over several years and is fit to casually show or to drive on weekends. The body is exceptionally straight with zero accidents and no major rust repair. The motor was rebuilt in 1976 by the previous owner. With the car are records from 1976 onward. Currently the car shows 68,820 miles. The actual mileage is unknown. After driving the car during the 1979 season, then storing it for 7 years, the current owner began the first stage of his restoration in 1987. He delivered the car to Norman Nock in Stockton, CA and had the engine pulled to repaint the engine compartment, rebuilt the suspension, replaced the wiring harness, and rebuilt the transmission and carburettors. In 1992 the body was taken down to bare metal and completely restored from the chassis up, including the removal and replacement of one small panel which contained very minor rust. There are no known accidents, and was no evidence of previous repairs. The interior, tonneau, top, and chrome were professionally done in 2004 by Lancaster Restorations, and at that time the tachometer, speedometer, and fuel gauge were rebuilt while the dash wood was being refinished. The chrome wheels have been restored and the car sits on new Vredestein 185/70 SR15 tires. The interior is outstanding with exceptional leather seats and tasteful green piping, leather door panels, console, and dash. The refinished wood dash is also excellent, as is the window glass, including the windshield. The repaint was an extremely high quality job done in the original color. There are no cosmetic flaws to speak of anywhere on the body. All gaps show very good panel fit with straight, clean jambs. The exterior chrome is outstanding throughout. All the lenses have been replaced with correct components. This car is equipped with Lucas PL Tripod headlights and mesh rock guards. The engine compartment and underside are both very well kept and representative of an older restoration. The trunk is freshly restored and beautiful. This car was originally equipped with wire wheels, overdrive, heater, adjustable steering column, laminated windscreen, and Road Speed tires. With the car comes the BMI Heritage Certificate, spare wheel and tire, tonneau cover, top boot, the original radio and hardware, two new knock offs, new Austin Healey emblems, several other extras parts relating to the restoration, and an enormous stack of records back to 1976. The car is ready to enjoy. Contact Information Fantasy Junction +1 510 653 7555 Emeryville, California 94608 USA
