According to the UK 3000 Register, the car with UK registration number EOL604C is HBJ8L/33350, not HBJ8L/38996. The register entry was made in April 1994 and indicated the owner had purchased the car in 1989. The color was described as BRG/Ivory. A replacement engine had been installed as of the entry date. Unless some other car now has the UK registration plate, or unless the engine has been changed again and someone has used the current engine number to get the BMIHT certificate, something is screwy here. The statement "This car is an early version of the later Phase 2 Mark III is halfway true for 33350, but not for 38996. HBJ8L/33350 is an earlier version than 38996 of a Phase 2 BJ8.
