This late entered Austin Healey 3000 MkI four seater open sports car was imported by the present private owner in 1991 after which it was subjected to a total and complete nut and bolt rebuild which took over five years to finish.

The body was restored on the rot free chassis by Haslams of Bolton, who are perfectionists and have many concours wins to their credit including the award for the best pre-war racing car at the 1998 Louis Vuiton event at the Parc de Paris, and the mechanical work was completed by Riverside garage. It is currently tested and taxed and the owner believes that the mileage could be correct at 89800 miles from new. The rear overiders have replaced the rear bumpers and the spot lamps have replced the front bumpers and there is a single racing type mirror to the driver's door. It has unleaded valve seats and the later 2" S.U. carburettors and it has only completed 6000 miles since it was finished.

On for sale due to a change in his circumstances it is a great example of this very popular sportscar which comes with the hard and soft top and the tonneau cover.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
